note to self: i’ll be there for you, always
written june 6, 2021. Photo by Kristine Cinate on Unsplash I have always looked for myself in other people. I think the idea was that they would somehow hold the pieces of me that I felt were missing. That maybe, if I wrapped my identity up in theirs enough, we would somehow make a whole person. It's not healthy to live like this, but I did it anyway — burning through relationships and searching for something I couldn't quite name. It was never enough, not to be myself, but it was never enough to latch my identity to other people, either. I got close, several times — I thought I had reached the pinnacle of self discovery. I thought I had completed myself. But in the end, relying on other people to help build yourself is never a viable way to do things. It's only recently that I've started to become comfortable with the idea of being enough, as I am, on my own. Several years ago, in this same position, I would have searched for another person to attach my identity onto,
Gh goodness. Saying I love this post isn't enough. I just...this post almost fried my computer, it's so awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhut ho, Hiddleston. *raises glass in a toast*
And yes. GO SEE AVENGERS. NOW!
O.O Oh no! You know you need to tone down your awesomeness when you almost fry your good friend's computer. No, no, actually, you know Tom Hiddleston needs to tone down his awesomeness when he almost fries your good friend's computer. I'll have to have a word with him about that.
DeleteHear, hear! *toast*
Of course, of course! I just have to see Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Captain America, and Thor first. My brother and dad and I are slowly working our way through the Marvel films so that we can go see The Avengers! I can't wait -- I really want to see these films that everybody loves!
HIDDDDDDDLLLLEEEEESSSS!!!!!!

*coughcough*
He is a rather nice person, isn't he?
Quite right, quite right. INDEED HE IS.
DeleteHello new favourite quote! Tom Hiddleston, it's just ridiculous how absurdly amazing you are. The end.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, go see The Avengers. As soon as is humanly possible. Fly, you fool! (you're not really a fool, I just had to add that quote in there)
~Nessima of Arda Nessiamava
I will fly, I will fly! As soon as is humanly possible, I shall ask Peter Pan and Tinkerbell to lend me some faith, trust, and pixie dust. (A huge round of applause to you for your LotR quote. It made me smile. XD)
DeleteHIDDLES.
ReplyDeleteYES.
YOU SAY THE BEST THINGS.
EHEHEHEH.
YES, HIDDLES.
DeleteYES YOU DO.

Intelligent comments are overrated. Why write words when you can do an evil cackle instead?!
I saw The Avengers just yesterday! It. Was. Amazing. And so is this post. Absolute love! <3
ReplyDeleteAhhh, thanks! I credit Tom Hiddleston for all of it. (Well, okay, most of it.)
DeleteYou are awesome. ♥ I wrote back to your email, btw! There's bsolutely no pressure to respond, I just wanted to let you know since my email has a habit of being rather finicky.
(Ahaha... you know you love The Hunger Games when you accidentally spell it "finnicky" at first instead.)
i have no words. okay, maybe I do... THAT QUOTE IS AMAZING. TOM HIDDLESTON IS AMAZING AND ONE OF A KIND. WE NEED MORE MEN LIKE HIM IN THIS WORLD. THE END.
ReplyDeleteYES HE IS. YES WE DO. LET US PRAY FOR MORE MEN LIKE THE HIDDLESTON. THE END, THE END, FOREVER, AMEN. B)
DeleteThis is going with my list of favorite and great quotes.
ReplyDeleteAnd the dancing Yoda is awesome, by the way.
Thor is my favorite of the Avengers movies, so I highly recommend it (and The Avengers). As much as I like Thor/Chris Hemsworth, Hiddleston is certainly one of the best actors I've ever seen, and he's awesome in both of those movies. :)
Oh yes. It's definitely on mine too!
DeleteAhaha, thanks. 'Tis not mine, but I love it too. XD Cracks me up, it does.
I SO CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THOR. THOR THOR THOR. It's the one I want to see the most, I think. Sadly, we're watching them in the order they came out, so I have to watch Iron Man 1 & 2 before Thor. But that's okay, I don't mind Tony Stark in the slightest. He seems like someone I'll love. ♥
I like this quote. He seems like a nice chap.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, indeed, he does! Of course, he does play Loki, the villain, but I do believe such minor offenses as that can be overlooked. (Especially if Loki is just as awesome as the Hiddles is. Which, judging by Loki's gimongo fanbase, is entirely possible.)
DeleteI loved Loki (that's probably 79% because Hiddles plays him, but whatever), even though he's black-hearted and seriously confused (I mean, what was he thinking when he killed one of my favorite characters and then sent Thor plummeting 30,000 feet on tumble-dry heavy cycle?!?). His hair is fascinating, his outfit is quite interesting, and his helmet is just plain hilarious. Plus he has a glow stick of destiny. Yup. Loki rocked.
Delete~Nessima of Arda Nessimava
LALALA SPOILERS. No, I'm just kidding, it's fine. ;)
DeleteA GLOW STICK OF DESTINY. HOLY COW. THAT ROCKS.
I seriously, seriously can't wait to see THOR. AL;JSLKFJS;LDJKF. ♥♥
HOW CAN THIS MAN EXIST!? He's gorgous, he's so lovely to his fans, he's hilarious at interviews ... and now this? Gah, why is he so awesome? ONE SHOULD NOT BE HUMANLY ALLOWED TO BE THIS AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I've seen both Thor and The Avengers. He's the best Loki you could ever wish for. He's also the best character in the films. I dare you to disagree with me after seeing them ;)
INDEED, INDEED. IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!
DeleteI highly doubt I'll disagree with you on the awesomeness of Loki, but I'll take on the dare anyway. XD Except, I highly anticipate loving Thor equally as much, so I might disagree with you there, as far as Loki being the absolute best. But at any rate, I SHALL SEE THEM SOON AND I CANNOT WAIT.
Ah! I have a new favorite person/quote! Where did you *find* that? It's AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteSo do I! Thankyamuchly! I found the quote on Tumblr: your source for absolutely epic awesomeness. B)
DeleteAs for the picture, I found that on Google Images. Kudos to Tom Hiddleston's face for being so photogenic.
Thanks for stopping by!
(A general side note to all bloggers: If any of you fellow bloggers have Tumblr, here's a link to mine! I'm a bit... I mean, very addicted. O.o At any rate, I'd love to connect with you on there, so feel free to let me know if you have one too! As for having an addiction to Tumblr like I do, that's optional... yet, I daresay, quite probable.)
*applause for Mr. Hiddleston*
ReplyDelete^ My name is Sky, and I approve this message.
DeleteSo, I was already quickly becoming a Hiddleston, um, fan. Not fan-girl. Never that, oh, no. Umm. Yeah. Anyway. You just made it worse. :) :) :) Thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! You're welcome!
DeleteMy evil plan is working.
EHEHE.
EHEHEHEHE.

LOVE it. =)
