I SHOULD be sleeping. But I'm not. Ah, such is life.
I'm going to be focusing on two sibling sets this time. One of them because I'm currently (trying) to write about them for Camp NaNo, and one because I miss them.
The ones I miss are Blade and Cobie from
Petrichor. They aren't actually siblings, but they act like it.
1. What is the first memory they have of each other?
Blade first met Cobie when she showed up to church drunk. He thought it was hilarious (and he was mildly concerned).
Cobie, of course, doesn't remember a thing.
2. Describe their relationship in 3 words.
Brotherly, adventurous, deep.
3. What kind of things do they like to do together?
CLIMB MOUNTAINS AND CLIFFS. Seriously, if you'll get an adrenaline high from it, Cobie and Blade will be found doing That Thing.
4. What was their biggest fight?
It was when Blade wanted to move out of town and Cobie was angry at him. She then offered to go with him, and the problem was solved. Unfortunately, these plans didn't pan out because Blade decided not to leave.
5. How far would they go to save each other?
Impossible lengths.
6. What are their pet peeves about each other?
Cobie thinks Blade is too serious. Blade thinks Cobie is too crazy. Normal things, really.
7. What are their favorite things about each other?
Blade likes how loyal Cobie is to the people she loves, and how sweet she is on the inside. Cobie likes Blade's heart for people and the way he's stuck by her all these years. (THIS IS STRICTLY PLATONIC, NO SHIPPING, PEOPLE.)
8. What traits do they share? Mannerisms, clothing, quirks, looks, etc?
They both like to quirk their eyebrows. I'm also pretty sure Cobie has commandeered a few of Blade's shirts.
9. Who has the strongest personality?
AHAH. Depends. When being rebellious and outgoing, Cobie. When being a leader, Blade.
10. How does their relationship change throughout your story?
They grow to a deeper understanding of each other and their strengths and weaknesses. They are not only friends, but partners in a fight to save the world.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
And now for part 2 of this post. I'm doing Camp NaNo (surprise, people!). And I'm writing the sequel to
Lost Girls, titled
Cracking Glass. Things are a lot worse for my heroes, and I love it.
Because of Camp, I'm going to be answering questions about Hal and Jem, my sibling duo from that novel. Jem is older and more logical, and Hal will debate you to the grave. They're perfect together.
1. What is the first memory they have of each other?
Being children together. It was a largely traumatic experience, what with all the hitting and pushing.
2. Describe their relationship in 3 words.
Reluctant partners unite.
3. What kind of things do they like to do together?
Get involved in really deep doodoo. Like, world conspiracies and evil science stuff. But they also like to watch TV together, I guess.
4. What was their biggest fight?
Hal was angry that Jem had dropped his laptop. (Her name is Jane. He's quite fond of her.)
5. How far would they go to save each other?
If it came down to it, they'd lay their lives on the line. But only if they knew they had to.
6. What are their pet peeves about each other?
Jem thinks Hal is too detached from life. Hal is kind of peeved about Jem because... well, she's his older sister.
7. What are their favorite things about each other?
Jem likes how smart Hal is and how helpful he is in a pinch with his hacking abilities. Hal likes that Jem talks to him and makes him feel valued.
8. What traits do they share? Mannerisms, clothing, quirks, looks, etc?
Not a lot. They both wear plaid. (I almost typed that they both wear clothes. I should hope so.)
9. Who has the strongest personality?
Jem, probably. Being the oldest sister has led to that.
10. How does their relationship change throughout your story?
While they previously had an amiable yet distant relationship, Hal and Jem are bonded by difficult circumstances that only they know about. A secret can kind of change a person. And make you more susceptible to like your siblings.
How fun! I love getting to read about other writer's characters, and yours has always been especially interesting! :)

Aaaahhh, I just love hearing about these characters and story! Sibling relationships, whether blood related or not, are the best! This edition of BP is so great. I'm hoping to do it next week.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing CampNaNo? And writing the sequel to Lost Girls? SO EXCITING. I love the title, Cracking Glass...so enticing!
HAAAAAAL. <3333
That is all.
No wait! I got so excited I almost forgot. I've tagged you over at my blog for the 777 Writing Challenge. ^_^ You can find it here: http://musingsofanelf.blogspot.com/2015/04/777-writing-challenge-burning-thorns.html DEFINITELY nothing you have to do whatsoever, but I wanted to pass it your way.

Hehe! I love Hal too. He's my favorite. Well, one of them. I shouldn't exactly HAVE favorites, buuuut...
Ooh, thanks for the tag! I might do this one if I can find the time! I've always had fun with these when I do them on FB.
Thanks for the comment! <3 Have an awesome day!
Awwww, I like both sets of your sibling-ish characters, Sky. Blade and Cobie sound a bit daredevlish, in a good way. Btw, is Blade his real name or a nickname?
ReplyDeleteLOVE your answer to #7 for Hal and Jem. It's great to see siblings get along and show they appreciate one another despite their differences. And #8 - hahahahahahaha!
Good luck with Camp NaNa!
I love both sets! I can't pick a favorite between them. All I know is that I want to read both books now... seriously. Well done, Sky! :)
